Welcome. As Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs of Kettering University, I serve as the chief ranking academic officer for the institution, responsible for all aspects of the academic mission and student life. Kettering has a unique history and heritage. We are an exceptional national model for co-op education, nationally ranked and recognized as a place of academic excellence. We have made a significant contribution to the economic and social well being of the region, state, nation and truly impacted communities across the world.
Charles Kettering is considered to be one of the two most successful inventors of the 20th century with over 300 U.S. patents to his name. As the Vice President of Research for General Motors, his main passion was innovation and invention. He thrived on challenge. That passion for creativity coupled with a deep understanding of science, technology and leadership is at the core of the Kettering experience.
Kettering University is a quality community made up of exceptional individuals. Faculty, staff and administrators are kind, caring, dedicated, and passionate about academic excellence. We are committed to a common vision, namely student success. We recognize that successful students develop skills in leadership, communication, service and citizenship in order to become the leaders of tomorrow. To facilitate those learning experiences, we are committed to provide enriching and meaningful learning opportunities in all aspects of student life in and outside the classroom.
Knowledge is expanding exponentially. As educators our challenge is no longer simply to provide graduates with knowledge in a chosen discipline but rather to provide them with the life-long learning skills that will support their continued growth in a rapidly changing world and to facilitate their success in pursuing careers and life goals. At Kettering, our goal is to design an academic experience that is empowering and transformational, characterized by the type and quality of encounters we facilitate for our students. |
