Canadian Students (Citizens of Canada)- Border Requirements
Present DS 2019 or I-20 at the port of entry to be properly classified in non-immigrant student status. CANADIAN IDENTIFICATION will be needed (birth certificate, driver's license, picture identification or passport).
EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2004 CITIZENS OF CANADA MUST PAY AND PROCESS SEVIS FEE ($100) BEFORE APPEARING AT THE PORT OF ENTRY. Fee can be paid through the Internet at https://www.fmjfee.com/index.jhtml by using a credit card and completing the online Form I-901 --- make sure you copy the receipt of payment. Receipt of payment may be required at border.
PASSPORT & VISA NOT NEEDED FOR ENTRY.
PERMANENT RESIDENTS OF CANADA must have a non-immigrant visa and passport contact international office for additional information.
Upon arrival on campus Canadian J-1 or F-1 students are required to report to the International Office. This office maintains a file with information that may be requested by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
