Brushless DC Motors
Course Description
This course explains the operating principles of a wide range of electric motors with an emphasis on brushless DC motors. Using MATLAB and PSPICE, participants learn to model and analyze brushless DC motors and various kinds of electronic drive circuits.
Course Objectives
At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the characteristics of conventional DC motors.
- Explain the operating principles of step motors.
- Explain the operating principles of brushless DC motors.
- Describe the operating principles and design of electronic control circuits for brushless DC motors.
- Describe the operation of position sensors used in brushless DC motors.
- Model and analyze the performance of a brushless DC motor system using MATLAB and PSPICE.
